Welcome to the family of master shoemakers

Behind every good shoe is a story. At LOMM, this story doesn't begin yesterday or a few years ago, but stretches back decades — to the time of our ancestors, their dedication to work, and their respect for the craft of shoemaking.

The LOMM brand was founded on July 13, 1990, but our beginnings go much further back. They are based on more than 80 years of shoemaking tradition, which emerged from the knowledge and experience of the grandparents of the founders Marko Markovič and Marija Markovič. It is precisely this family heritage that laid the foundation for a company that continues to build on quality, comfort, and dedication to its customers to this day.

At the company headquarters in Zalog pri Cerkljah, the founders began with a clear vision: to create high-quality slippers and clogs that offer people comfort, reliability, and durability. What began in humble conditions was characterized from the outset by great dedication, precision, and love for the craft.

From a small garage to a growing company

LOMM's beginnings were simple, but full of determination. Production initially took place in a small garage where the first products were made. Over the years, the company grew — both in terms of production volume and in knowledge, experience, and recognition.

Year after year, we expanded our expertise in shoes, materials, and comfort. The development of new models and the introduction of new materials enabled us to gradually improve the quality of our products and expand our offerings. The growth of the company also eventually required a move to larger premises, which marked a new chapter in the company's development.

Also among the first online

Around the turn of the millennium, the then company LOMM Markovič Marko s.p. took an important step forward and presented itself as one of the first companies in Slovenia to also go online. Setting up a website meant a modern approach, better accessibility for customers, and an important step towards greater company recognition.

At the same time, we continued to develop new models and make production improvements. By introducing more modern manufacturing methods, we were able to further raise the quality level and solidify our commitment to shoes that combine tradition and progress.

Before the Lightware line was created, our main products were primarily slippers. Over the years, we gradually supplemented the basic models with various designs, shapes, and adjustments, steadily expanding the offering and increasingly aligning it with customer wishes. These very slippers became very popular throughout Slovenia, especially among the older generation, who appreciated their comfort, quality, and reliability. This solidified our name as a shoe manufacturer that understands everyday needs and offers shoes for comfortable, safe, and long-lasting use.

Lightware: a distinctive story of comfort and design

At the beginning of the last decade, we introduced the new line of Lightware clogs, which quickly became something special in the Slovenian market. The line stood out both for its design and the quality of its manufacturing, demonstrating that local knowledge can also produce a product with a distinctly modern identity.

An important part of this development was also the collaboration with designer Sandi Murovec, which contributed to the creation of exceptional products. Lightware clogs soon attracted the attention of sports teams and individuals, including Slovenian and foreign alpine and Nordic national teams, as well as top female athletes like Petra Vlhová, Tina Maze, and Ilka Štuhec. In addition to individual athletes, sports clubs and teams also chose us, for example, the Norwegian national ski team, the Attacking Vikings, the ice hockey club Olimpija Ljubljana, and others.

For us, this was an important recognition — confirmation that quality, innovation, and dedication to work are also recognized by those who expect the highest from shoes.

During this time, we further expanded our offerings and, in addition to clogs, also developed summer models such as flip-flops and sandals. Comfort models were also created, with which we emphasized comfort, functionality, and adaptability to different customer requirements even more.

A special step forward was the development of our own application for the Lightware and Comfort lines, where customers can design their own color combination of shoes. This enabled an even more personal approach to product selection and further emphasized the individuality of each pair. In this area, we are unique in Slovenia and among the few manufacturers in Europe that offer such personalization options.

New building, new energy, new chapters

In 2018, the company moved into a new production building, which also housed a store. This step meant not only larger and more modern premises, but also new momentum for further development.

In 2020, the company was transformed into LOMM d.o.o., under which we operate to this day.

After the transformation into LOMM d.o.o. in 2020, we continued our development path with the same dedication to quality, comfort, and innovation. In the following years, we strengthened our presence in the market, expanded our offerings, and opened new chapters of growth, further confirming our focus on high-quality, adaptable, and modern shoes.

In recent years, in addition to the existing lines of slippers and clogs, we also developed the LOMM Medico line, which is intended for people with injured, sensitive, or more demanding feet. We pay particular attention to comfort, foot support, and solutions that improve our customers' daily well-being.

In the period before 2024, we successfully presented our offerings at trade fairs in the European Union, where we introduced the quality of our products not only to end customers but also to retail chains and business partners. This strengthened the international recognition of the LOMM brand and showed that our knowledge, adaptability, and manufacturing quality also appeal to the broader European market.

With the Lightware line, we went a step further and started thinking about enabling customers to have clogs made with custom insoles. This further underscored our focus on an individual approach and functional comfort.

In 2024, we took an important development step in the field of custom insoles, which we developed in collaboration with the recognized physiotherapist Alen Lilić from Fizio Center Kozina. With his expertise and many years of experience in rehabilitation and foot biomechanics, he makes an important contribution to the development of individually adapted solutions for our customers. By combining his expertise with our many years of experience in shoes, we developed solutions that allow for even more individualized shoes, better foot support, and a higher level of comfort. This development made it possible for customers to have clogs, flip-flops, or slippers with custom insoles made by us. At the same time, we also offer the option of having standalone custom insoles made.

In 2025, we took another important step forward and began producing shoes under prescription from the Slovenian health insurance company ZZZS. This further expanded our activities and confirmed that our knowledge, experience, and manufacturing quality also meet more demanding and specific user needs. By the end of the same year, we also enabled our customers to have selected models from our range made with their own custom insoles. This further combined functionality, individual customization, and comfort in daily use.

Small in size, big in adaptability

Although LOMM is a smaller company in size, this is precisely one of our greatest strengths. The ability to adapt to the wishes and needs of our customers enables us to maintain a high level of satisfaction and build long-term relationships with our customers.

Our customers primarily come from Western and Central Europe, as well as from the countries of the former common republic. They trust us because they recognize in our products the combination of tradition, high-quality manufacturing, and honest concern for comfort.

LOMM is not just a company. It is a story of family, work, knowledge, and continuous development. It is a story of respect for tradition and the courage to take new steps. It is a story of shoes that are not just made to be worn, but for greater well-being.
